Mobile Messaging Service |
|
Mobile text messaging, also known as SMS text messaging, offers the ability
to instantly communicate with customers that opt-in to receive text messages
on their mobile device. EPriority's use of shortcodes offers
keyword-based user interactivity delivering static content hosted by ePriority or
dynamic content delivered via B2B calls from the client. ePriority offers the
same tracking features and logging capabilities as its batch e-mail process.
Short Codes
Short codes are 5-6 digit numbers used to send text messages and accept
short command responses. Short codes are associated with
profiles, thus retaining many of the
same abilities as email batches such as delivery schedules, blackouts,
and reporting. To set up a new short code for an account or
learn more, contact ePriority support.
The short code is the mobile number of the sender that the recipient
will see and optionally, interact with through commands.
Mobile Device Number
The mobile device number is the recipient's 11-15 digit mobile telephone number
composed of country code + area code + mobile number.
Example: 1 + 816 + 555-1234
Mobile Text Message
A mobile text message can contain up to 160 characters in a single message.
Up to 450 characters is supported via "concatenated" messages, but are not
as widely supported by all mobile phone models. Messages longer than 160
characters will be sent in multiple 153 character message texts in any order.
Mobile Delivery Tracking
Similar to the batch email process, mobile messages support tracking
information such as delivery confirmation, reply tracking, etc.
Because not all mobile carriers support the same tracking features,
tracking support will vary.
